Welcome to 6KM Class!


It is the summer term and with it comes sunshine, SATs and spies! This term we will be covering the topic 'Your country needs you!' where we will be learning all about World War Two. We also have trips to Grim and Co Apothecary, Eden Camp, London and York University for 'Green Apples'. It is going to be a busy term!


Homework will be set every Wednesday and will involve your child completing two Maths activities on Mathletics- if you do not have access to the internet at home there are plenty of opportunities to complete it  school; Mathletics club is on Wednesday lunchtime and Homework club is on a Thursday evening.

Literacy homework will be set each term and each child will be asked to complete 3 tasks from the grid before half term, and a further 3 after half term. If you have any queries, please feel free to come and talk to us at the end of the school day.

R.E – Justice and Freedom

PSHCE- Relationships and Changes

Games and PE – Athletics and Rounders

ICT – Coding/Internet Research

Geography/History – WW2

Art/ DT – Propaganda Posters and 1940s rooms.

Class News

PE/Games) will be on a Monday and Wednesday - Please make sure you have outdoor kit ready.

You will need:

PE Kit
White polo T-Shirt
Dark tracksuit/jogging bottoms and top (outdoor) dark shorts (indoor)

Trainers (outdoor) plimsoles (indoor)

No jewellery
Long hair tied up

If you are forgetful you may find it useful to keep your kit in school all week and only take it home on a Friday to be washed.


Don't forget to keep getting those planners signed each time you read to try to get your High Fives. Let's try and get lots more High Five Awards this term! Remember every book you read will count towards The 40 Book Challenge!


Google Chromebooks

Each Year 6 child has their own Google Chromebook to use within school. This is a fantastic resource and is used daily to enrich the curriculum. Children have access to a wide range of apps and tools at their fingertips to support their learning and publish their work.
