Literacy Skills Group
The Literacy Skills Group is a provision for a maximum of 7 children who are at the early stages of acquiring reading and writing skills.
Every day we start by practising our daily routines to develop our reading, spelling and sentence writing skills. We then move on to follow a structured programme based on a multisensory approach to learning. We use a range of resources to support our learning including chromebooks, apps, puzzles, audio-visual materials and games. We do many different activities during our lesson to help us practise our new skills.
We learn best by doing practical activities supported by our teacher, Mrs Bulley and our teaching assistant, Mrs Holmes. We love baking, crafts, outdoor activities and treasure hunts. We use these experiences to help us write in a range of different styles such as instructions, recounts, letters, poems and stories.
We enjoy coming to our group where we work hard, have fun and are proud of the progress we make.
