Message from the Co-Chairs of Governors
Welcome to the section of the website where you can find out more about the school’s governors and what we do.
The Governors at Carr Junior are a group of volunteers from a variety of backgrounds, all of whom are committed to ensuring that the pupils in this school have the best education and opportunities to become great members of our community.
Our governors include parents, teachers, members of the community and specialists appointed by the Local Authority. As a group we are responsible for the major decisions about the school and its future, and work closely with the Headteacher and staff to ensure that Carr Junior School is an effective and successful school for the children.
Our role includes:
- Setting the school’s vision, ethos and strategic direction;
-
Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils;
-
Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent;
-
Ensuring decisions take into account the views and experiences of stakeholders – pupils, parents, staff and our community
