Supporting pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)

Carr Junior School aims to provide a caring and supportive environment where all pupils are valued equally and are given the opportunity to achieve the very best they can. We have a number of children who may have additional learning needs and have a wealth of experience of early identification, intervention and support.

Our SEND Information Report explains how we support pupils throughout their time at Carr Junior School. It aims to provide you with answers to frequently asked questions about our provision for our pupils, especially those who may have Special Educational Needs or a disability.

Our Accessibility Plan shows how we are working on making learning at Carr Junior School as accessible as possible for all pupils.

What should I do if I have a complaint about my child’s SEN support?

Complaints about SEN provision in each school should be made to the SENCO in the first instance. The school will try to resolve the complaint informally in the first instance. If this does not resolve their concerns, parents are welcome to submit their complaint formally.

Formal complaints about SEN provision in each school should be made to the headteacher in the first instance. They will be handled in line with the Trust’s complaints policy which can be found here.
